The TruckManager app gathers location data for freight forwarding or road transport, which is then uploaded to the TruckManager.eu server. This data is linked to a vehicle account and subsequently stored. Customers of the TruckManager.eu server utilize this stored data to monitor cargo transport. Prior to using the TruckManager application, an active customer account must be established on the TruckManager.eu server, to which the TruckManager app is linked.

Location data is collected by the TruckManager application not only when the app is in the foreground but also in the background. This is a crucial requirement for freight-forwarding companies - the customers of the TruckManager.eu server. Therefore, location data must be collected even if the user switches to the home screen or another application, such as routing/navigation software. The TruckManager application notifies the user about location data collection through a notification icon in the Android status bar. If location data is collected, the OK icon is shown; if not, the cross icon is displayed. When the user exits the TruckManager application, location data collection is terminated. The user can also terminate location data collection in the notification or application user interface.

Location data is uploaded to the TruckManager.eu server and linked to a registered vehicle. Freight-forwarding companies, as customers of the TruckManager.eu server, use this data to track cargo transport and communicate with drivers. Customers may delete location data when it becomes obsolete. The TruckManager application uploads collected location data at regular intervals, typically every 5 minutes, for online tracking. Data upload is done via UDP protocol to minimize the volume of transferred data.

The TruckManager application must be linked to a vehicle registered in the customer's account on the TruckManager.eu server. Registration involves entering the mobile phone number, to which a verification code is sent via SMS. Until successful registration at the server, any location data collected and possibly uploaded to the TruckManager.eu server is rejected and immediately deleted by the server. This may also occur if the customer closes their account at the TruckManager.eu server or deletes information about the vehicle. In any case, the TruckManager application notifies the user about data deletion via an in-app instant message.

Location data uploaded to the TruckManager.eu server is not sold or monetized in any way. The collected location data is accessible only to the registered freight-forwarding company using the TruckManager.eu server.

The TruckManager application uses a randomly generated string of 15 characters to identify the application instance. This string is not linked to or derived from any physical features of the device. Application removal or re-installation generates a new random string, requiring the application to be re-registered. The registration process is described in Location Data Handling section.

Access to the location data collected by the application is limited to registered customers only. Customers can view and manage only the data uploaded by their registered TruckManager applications on the TruckManager.eu server.
